SCORESHEET

September 14th 2015, Fort Wayne, Indiana, U.S.A.: A closing birdie saw India’s Anirban Lahiri sign for a one-under-par 71 to finish tied-sixth at the Hotel Fitness Championship, which is the first leg of the Web.Com finals.

The 28-year-old Indian, who leads the current Asian Tour Order of Merit with two victories, mixed his card with four birdies against three bogeys to finish six shots back of winner Henrik Norlander of Sweden on 13-under-par 275 total at the Sycamore Hills Golf Club in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

Twenty-two putts. Eight putts on his first nine alone. Those were the numbers that jumped off Anirban Lahiri’s stat line from the second round, the reason he was able to piece together a second-round, 7-under 65 at Fort Wayne despite struggling with his alignment off the tee. “If I can keep putting like that, it works,” Lahiri had said outside the scoring area on Friday afternoon, entering the third round in solo second place at 10 under par, one shot behind 36-hole leader Jamie Lovemark.

Lahiri, No. 40 in the Official World Golf Ranking, is playing the Web.com Tour Finals in an effort to earn his PGA TOUR card for the first time. The 18-time professional winner plans on playing the first three events of the Finals, before foregoing the Web.com Tour Championship to prepare for his first Presidents Cup appearance in Korea, where he’ll become the first Indian-born player to compete.

Lahiri has three weeks to secure his place inside the top 25 on the Finals money list.
