The countdown is on. From October 9 to 12, the Women’s Indian Open 2025 will be contested at DLF Golf & Country Club, Gurugram. Nine years after Aditi Ashok’s historic triumph, the question resonates across Indian golf: can India raise the trophy again?

India’s Best Hope: A Mix of Experience and Youth

The field features over 110 players, including around 30 Indian golfers, of whom 6 to 7 are amateurs. The mix of seasoned pros and fresh talent promises fireworks.

  • Aditi Ashok remains the benchmark for Indian women in golf.

  • Diksha Dagar, Olympian and Deaflympics gold medalist, brings resilience and skill.

  • Pranavi Urs thrives under pressure, finishing top-five at the Lacoste Ladies Open de France 2024.

  • Tvesa Malik, the local favorite, knows the DLF layout inside out.

  • Gaurika Bishnoi, a fan favorite and one of India’s most searched female golfers, has been consistently in the top ten in previous editions.

Other Indian names to watch include Vani Kapoor, Amandeep Drall, Jasmine Shekar, Ridhima Dilawari, Sneha Singh, Lavanya Jadon, and amateurs Zara Anand, Saanvi Somu, Mannat Brar. This is a golden opportunity for emerging talent to shine on home soil.

The Global Elite Has Arrived

The international field is stacked. Defending champion Liz Young (England) returns, while Mimi Rhodes (USA), currently leading the LET Order of Merit, enters in blistering form. Teen sensation Anna Huang (Canada) eyes a hat-trick of European victories this season.

Other global stars include Alice Hewson, Shannon Tan, Sara Kouskova, Chiara Tamburlini, and experienced campaigners like Marianne Skarpnord, Emma Grechi, Meghan MacLaren. Players from over 25 countries make this one of the most competitive fields ever.

DLF Golf & Country Club: Where Strategy Meets Drama

DLF Golf & Country Club is more than a venue; it is a test of nerves, precision, and strategy.

  • Hole 7: 170-yard par-3 over water – expect birdies, but double bogeys lurk.

  • Hole 14: 450-yard par-4 with undulating fairways and bunkers – the “pressure hole.”

  • Hole 18: Iconic finishing hole with an undulating green and water hazard – it has produced some of the tournament’s most dramatic finishes.

Past editions show winning scores of -11 to -13 under par, proving that while skill wins, the course demands courage.

Numbers That Matter

The field includes 114 players, with around 30 Indians, including 6 to 7 amateurs. The international lineup consists of top 70 LET players, season winners, and LETAS qualifiers. The defending champion is Liz Young. The total prize pool stands at USD 500,000, approximately 4.5 crore rupees.

The Big Question

Nine years have passed since India last lifted the trophy. Can one of these talented golfers make history? With a mix of youth, experience, and local knowledge, this edition promises excitement, heartbreak, and moments that will be remembered for years.
