After the cancellation of The LPGA Blue Bay golf event, the LPGA declared on Sunday evening the Honda LPGA Thailand, scheduled for Feb 20-23, and the HSCB Woman’s World Championship in Singapore, was scheduled to occur February 27-March 1 in Singapore will also not occur in this year. The cancellation happened “due to continued health concerns and recent advisories in some Asian countries that large-scale events should be cancelled or postponed.” LPGA and its accomplices have settled on the choice to drop these tournaments as they think health and safety of the player and stuff should be on high priority.

LPGA has said in a statement “It is always a difficult decision to cancel events and the LPGA greatly appreciates the understanding and all the efforts made by our title sponsors (Honda and HSBC) as well as to IMG to host incredible events for our players. The health and safety of our players, fans and everyone working on the event is always our highest priority. While we are disappointed that these tournaments will not take place this season, we look forward to returning to Asia soon.” That means Asia will not be able to witness the LPGA at least not before August when the Olympics will occur in Japan. Moreover, after the Women’s Australian Open, LPGA won’t hold a tournament until Founders Cup, that will be held on 19th March Arizona.
