Rooted deeply in India’s cultural heritage, the launch blended sport, royalty, and storytelling, featuring live Kathakali, Gatka, and Rajasthani folk Band performances, creating an immersive experience that celebrated the diversity of Indian cities. The evening opened with the official GRPL launch film, followed by a powerful address by Mr. Dinesh Thakur, Founder of GRPL, who outlined a bold vision for the future of golf in India.

 

With over 19 years in the golf industry, Thakur presented GRPL not just as a league, but as a scalable sports property designed for long-term growth, visibility, and value creation.

He revealed an ambitious 5-year roadmap, positioning GRPL to expand across 14 city-based teams, 10 domestic events annually, international finals, OTT streaming and fantasy sports integration, and a projected reach to over 2 million Ultra HNI Audience.

 

At the heart of the league lies a strong commercial foundation, including an INR 1 crore prize pool, a structured stakeholding model for team owners, and a growing ecosystem of over 150,000 registered golfers built over two decades by 4moles.com.

 

Season 1 Teams Announced

 

Six founding teams were officially unveiled, each representing a unique city identity, ownership vision, and competitive spirit:

 

• KHT Bangalore Eagles owned by Adit Morzaria
• Carnelian Kolar Zioneers owned by Zion Hills Golf County, represented by George
• Haldi Golf County Hyderabad Albatross owned by Savi Abraham and Ranjan Sood
• Delhi Royals owned by Vega Jahajgarhia and Tanvi Gupta, India’s first women-led golf franchise
• Gurugram Titans owned by Rajiv Chauhan & Partners
• CapGains Ahmedabad Aces owned by Vishal Mehta and Dhruval Patel

 

Also present were key figures shaping the teams, including team captains and ambassadors such as Jahanvi Bakshi (Team Captain, Delhi Royals), Rahil Gangjee (Brand ambassador, KHT Bangalore Eagles), and Geeta Basra (Brand ambassador, Delhi Royals), further strengthening the league’s blend of sport, leadership, and cultural influence.

A True Pan-India Golfing Circuit

 

GRPL Season 1 will unfold across six premier golf destinations in India, culminating in an international finale. The announced schedule includes Kolar, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Gurugram, Mumbai, and Delhi, followed by an international finale in January 2027.

 

 

In a first-of-its-kind format, all teams will compete across multiple cities, building a dynamic points table system, with the ultimate champion crowned at the international finale.
