Hansen's victory puts him up to 43rd place in the Race to Dubai standings and qualifies him for the DP World Tour Championship, the European Tour's season-ending event.
Joachim Hansen of Denmark won the AVIV Dubai Championship on Sunday with a faultless final round of 68, finishing one shot ahead of Francesco Laporta of Italy and Bernd Wiesberger of Austria. Hansen finished on 23 under par, securing his spot in the lineup for the season-ending DP World Tour Championship in Dubai next week.
Shubhankar Sharma from India, who had a strong second half of the season in Europe, shot 70-72 (-2) at the Aviv Dubai Championship, missing the cut by three shots, and narrowly missing out on a top 60 ranking in the Tour rankings, which would have qualified him for the US$ 9 million DP World Tour Championship, which takes place Nov. 18-21.
Sharma will now open his 2022 season with the Johannesburg Open on the European Tour, a tournament he won in South Africa in 2017.
