New Delhi, October 17 — England’s Tommy Fleetwood lit up the Delhi Golf Club on Friday, firing a flawless 8-under 64 to seize the halfway lead at –12 in the DP World India Championship 2025.

The Ryder Cup winner produced a stunning display of precision golf — eight birdies, no bogeys — to move one shot clear of Shane Lowry (–11) and Brian Harman (–11), setting up a thrilling weekend at India’s biggest-ever golf event.
Fleetwood, whose consistency and calm have defined his recent form, is chasing his first title in India. “I’ve really enjoyed the challenge of Delhi Golf Club — it demands accuracy and patience,” Fleetwood said after his round.
Rory McIlroy, making his much-anticipated India debut, mixed six birdies and three bogeys for a second-round 69 to sit at –6 (T17). The Northern Irishman continues to adapt to the tight, tree-lined course, balancing aggression with strategy as he eyes a weekend surge.
For the large home contingent, Day 2 proved ruthless. The cut fell at –2, and only five of 26 Indians advanced to the weekend.

Notably, Rahil Gangjee — the best-placed Indian after Round 1 (T4 at –5) — slipped to T67 (–1) and missed the cut, alongside Veer Ahlawat, Shaurya Bhattacharya, and Udayan Mane. The strong domestic start has turned into a battle of survival for the remaining five.
Before the event teed off, Fleetwood spoke exclusively to 4moles.com at the pre-tournament press conference, sharing insight on how amateur and club golfers can improve their game.

With Fleetwood at –12, Lowry and Harman one stroke back, and a world-class chasing pack that includes McIlroy, the stage is set for a captivating finish. The Delhi Golf Club’s narrow corridors and tricky greens will continue to test precision — but as Fleetwood showed, patience and poise can yield low numbers.
