Indian Golfer Shubhankar Sharma did not start with an imperious performance but still managed a big-hitting 4 under par 68 to keep himself in contention for coming under the top 10 golfers at the ‘Omega Dubai Desert Classic 2021’. He holed 6 birdies against 2 bogeys and managed to lie at the 12th position halfway through the match.

On the other hand, Gaganjeet Bhullar holes out from the fairway to card 6 birdies. Although, he had also given away 3 bogeys and a double at the front nine of the ‘Emirates Golf Club’ in Dubai.

Meanwhile, Thomas Detry, representing Belgium gives a cut-throat competition to all the other players who have made a cut. It seems that he is looking forward to bidding for a maiden European Tour title at the ‘Dubai Desert Classic 2021’, as he surged to the top of the leaderboard.

Sharma contently quoted, "I was really happy with the way I played. I didn't have the best of starts. It was a slow start. I didn't make a birdie on the Par -5 10th, made a good putt for par and then bogeyed 12th, missed a birdie on 13." "So I'm very proud of myself for the way I fought back, especially the birdies on 14 and 15. They are not easy holes."

He added, "I hit a great shot on 18 and had a birdie. Then had a good second nine. Especially to finish with birdies on 7 and 8. On the first, it was a bad iron shot, made a good chip but it couldn't make a putt from down the hill from six feet.”

Sharma’s undying confidence and dedication towards his game have helped him lie at the 12th position. Will Sharma’s zeal to make a cut help him win the game?
