Six cities gathered at Zion Hills Golf County as GRPL Season 1 officially began.
The battle has officially begun.
What started as an ambitious idea just five months ago became reality this weekend as the Golf Rendezvous Pro-Am League (GRPL) launched its inaugural season with the Kolar Leg of The Royal Trial of India at Zion Hills Golf County.
Six cities.
Six franchises.
Six captains.
Hundreds of stories.
One shared mission.
To write the opening chapter of India's first city-based franchise golf league.
And what a beginning it was.
From franchise rivalries and team introductions to live scoring, packed galleries, dramatic leaderboard shifts, world-class entertainment, and unforgettable moments on and off the golf course, the Kolar Leg delivered a glimpse into a future of golf that India has never witnessed before.
Representing their respective cities were:
• Delhi Royals
• Carnelian Kolar Zioneers
• Gurugram Titans
• KHT Bangalore Eagles
• CapGains Ahmedabad Aces
• Haldi Golf County Hyderabad Albatross
For the first time, golfers were not just playing for themselves.
They were playing for a city.
And that changed everything.

CapGains Ahmedabad Aces emerged as the early leaders after the opening leg of The Royal Trial of India.
Every great league begins with a statement.
The first statement belongs to Ahmedabad.
CapGains Ahmedabad Aces emerged from an intense opening battle at Zion Hills to claim top spot after the Kolar Leg, collecting 10 points and taking an early lead in the race for the inaugural GRPL championship.
KHT Bangalore Eagles finished a close second with 8 points, while Hyderabad Albatross secured third place with 6 points after a strong all-round performance. Gurugram Titans claimed fourth, followed by Carnelian Kolar Zioneers and Hyperstar Developers Delhi Royals.

Leaderboard after the Kolar leg of GRPL
The message from Kolar is simple.
The leaderboard has been established.
The chase has begun.
Note: We truly apologise to KHT Bangalore eagles, our team owner Adit Morzaria and all the players of the team for the Human scoring error on leg 1 of the GRPL. We had announced KHT Bangalore eagles as winner of the leg 1, but we had to change the same due to Human scoring error by GRPL team.
Rest assured, we will put better processes for future legs and will continue to be transparent in GRPL.
Wishing KHT Bangalore Eagles and all other teams the best for other legs of GRPL.
While the franchises battled for city pride, individual performances created some memorable storylines of their own.
Madhavi Reddy emerged as the Individual Winner of the Kolar Leg, earning not only the top individual honour but also securing a coveted ticket to the GRPL International Finale.
One of the most talked-about performances came from Savi Abraham, Team Owner of Haldi Golf County Hyderabad Albatross, who showcased that leadership extends beyond the boardroom and onto the fairways, finishing Runner-Up in the Individual Category.
Their performances highlighted one of GRPL's unique strengths — professionals, amateurs, franchise owners, ladies, juniors, and veterans all competing on the same stage and creating stories of their own.
While the competition unfolded on the course, GRPL delivered an experience far beyond the game itself.
One of the biggest highlights of the evening came from internationally acclaimed mentalist and illusionist Nikhil Raj, whose live performance left players, guests, franchise owners, and spectators stunned.
From impossible predictions to mind-bending demonstrations, the audience witnessed moments that quickly became the talk of the weekend.
As the sun set over Zion Hills, Stanley Live, the electrifying Goa-based band, transformed the venue into a celebration of sport, music, and community.
What followed was exactly what GRPL was designed to create.
Golf.
Entertainment.
Networking.
Hospitality.
Competition.
And city pride.
All coming together on one stage.
Perhaps the biggest takeaway from the opening leg was the overwhelming response to GRPL's city-based format.
For decades, golfers have largely competed as individuals.
Now they wear team colours.
They represent franchises.
They follow city standings.
They celebrate together.
They lose together.
And increasingly, fans are beginning to choose sides.
That shift was visible throughout the weekend as players followed live leaderboards, debated team selections, tracked rival franchises, and passionately supported their cities.
The rivalries are no longer an idea.
They are real.

Golf, entertainment, hospitality and city pride came together in a memorable opening weekend.
The opening chapter has now been written.
Ahmedabad holds the lead.
Bengaluru is within striking distance.
Gurugram has momentum.
Hyderabad is preparing for home advantage.
Kolar wants redemption.
Delhi wants a response.
The Royal Trial of India now moves to Boulder Hills Golf Club, Hyderabad, on 20th June 2026, where six cities will once again battle for points, pride, and position in the race for the inaugural GRPL championship.
One leg down.
Five cities still dreaming.
And a trophy that remains very much up for grabs.
The Royal Trial of India has begun.
