The 24-year-old America Golfer, Collin Morikawa has lifted one of the reputed titles in the golfing world. He has marked his formidable victory by becoming the star of the ‘Workday Championship 2021’ at the sprawling green course of ‘The Concession Golf Club’.
He has categorically reflected his respect for the golfing sensation Tiger Woods by honoring him on his big win at WGC. He believes that the best way to honor a golfer is to play like him. Thus, he honored Tiger in his own way by performing the way Tiger does. Furthermore, other golfers had also shown respect and gratitude towards Woods by wearing his’ traditional Sunday attire that typically is a combination of the dark red golf tee and black trousers.
“Tiger means everything to me,” Morikawa said. “And yes, he had the crash and thankfully he’s all right and hopefully he has a quick and great recovery, but I don’t think we say thank you enough. So I want to say thank you to Tiger because sometimes you lose people too early. I lost my grandpa about a month ago. And you don’t get to say thank you enough.” (Source: Golfweek)
Speaking of Morikawa’s stellar performance at the WGC Championship, he has made 27 birdies by setting his seal on the PGA Tour Title for the 4th time.
“I’ve been working on so much the past two weeks. And no matter what anyone says, sleeping on a lead has its pressure, has its nerves,” “But I was excited to get back in contention, to have a chance to win. I haven’t had it for a while, but this is what we love to do, we love to win.” he quoted. (Source: Golfweek)
To cap off, a myriad of famous golfers from all across the globe showed respect and gratitude towards woods, who has been a victim of a deadly single-vehicle rollover crash on Tuesday. Seeing the respect and honor that he is getting from the people of the golfing world, he got emotional and ended up addressing his fans through a poignant tweet.
“It is hard to explain how touching today was when I turned on the tv and saw all the red shirts. To every golfer and every fan, you are truly helping me get through this tough time” Tiger Tweeted this Monday.
