New Delhi, India – Indian golf has long been event driven. Weekend tournaments, corporate outings and standalone competitions have defined the ecosystem for years. According to Dinesh Thakur, that model has reached its ceiling.

The Founder of Golf Rendezvous PRO-AM League (GRPL) believes the future of Indian golf lies in identity, rivalry and scale.
“For years, amateur and corporate golfers have competed without a structured league, without city pride and without long term value creation. GRPL changes that,” says Thakur.
GRPL introduces a season long IPL style league format played across 7 golf courses, culminating in an international final leg where all teams travel. At stake is a INR 1 Crore prize pool.
However, the prize money is only one part of the vision.
“This is not just about competition. It is about representation,” Thakur explains. “We are giving amateur golfers the experience of playing within a professional ecosystem where performance is tracked, rivalries build over a season and cities compete for legacy.”
Unlike traditional tournaments, GRPL operates as a structured sports property. With a media network reaching over 1,50,000 registered golfers nationwide, the league delivers scale, visibility and continuity across the country’s fastest growing golf community.
The league has also been designed with ownership at its core. GRPL introduces a structured stakeholding model that enables team owners and strategic partners to participate not only in competition, but in long term value creation. For high net worth individuals, corporate leaders and golf enthusiasts, GRPL presents an opportunity to align passion with scalable commercial potential.
“This is about building an asset, not just hosting events,” says Thakur. “We are creating city based teams, season long narratives and a commercial framework that allows stakeholders to grow with the league.”
By combining city identity, structured competition and commercial governance, GRPL aims to redefine how amateur golf is played, experienced and valued in India.
The vision is clear. The biggest sports property in Indian golf will be built around amateurs.
