The Claret Jug returns to Royal Birkdale, ready to witness another chapter in Open Championship history.
For more than 150 years, golfers have chased the same dream. Not just to win golf's oldest major, but to lift one of the most iconic trophies in sport, the Claret Jug.
But what if the Claret Jug kept a diary?
Its pages wouldn't simply record scores or statistics. They would preserve the moments that shaped The Open Championship, moments of triumph, heartbreak, resilience and history.
One page would belong to Harry Vardon, whose six Open Championship victories remain an unmatched benchmark more than a century later. Another would relive the unforgettable week at Royal Birkdale in 2017, where Jordan Spieth turned adversity into victory, while Branden Grace became the first player in men's major championship history to shoot 62.

Jordan Spieth's remarkable comeback at Royal Birkdale became one of the defining moments in The Open's rich history.
The diary would remember champions from every era, Arnold Palmer, Tom Watson, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and, most recently, Scottie Scheffler. Each lifted the Claret Jug in their own way, but every victory added another page to the legacy of golf's oldest major.

Scottie Scheffler returns to Royal Birkdale as defending champion, aiming to add another page to the Claret Jug's diary.
From 16 to 19 July, The Open Championship returns to Royal Birkdale, a venue renowned for producing unforgettable moments and deserving champions. Defending champion Scottie Scheffler arrives with the opportunity to achieve something only a select few have managed, successfully defend The Open Championship.
History has shown that lifting the Claret Jug once is extraordinary.
Lifting it twice in succession is even harder.
The question is no longer about what's already written in the Claret Jug's diary.
It's about who will write the next chapter.
Do you think Scottie Scheffler will successfully defend The Open Championship, or will Royal Birkdale crown a new champion? Share your prediction in the comments.
