Course Description

The Royal Springs Golf Course is a public golf course situated at the foot hills of Zabarwan mountains over-looking Dal Lake and is managed by Jammu and Kashmir Tourism Development Corporation, as quasi-government institution. The course was designed by the American golfer Robert Trent Jones Jr. It is regarded as one of the most picturesque golf courses in Asia.

Ranked in the Top 10 golf courses of India by Golf Digest (February 2014), this 18-hole golf course with practice fairways of approximately 225 meters in length, has three lakes, two marshes, comfort stations, rain shelters, a clubhouse, and a 8.5 kilometers long cart path. The course is spread over an area of 100 hectares.

The fairways are about 50 to 60 meters wide varying in length from 160 to 530 meters. At a total length of 6450 meters, the course consists of four Par 5s, ten Par 4s, and four Par 3 holes. Hazard areas are in the shape of beautiful lakes, natural marshes and bunkers making the course interesting and challenging, in accordance to the international championship standards.

A golfer will be required to have authoritative control on both his "fade" and "draw" if he has to score well on this tough course. He would require distance off the tee, accuracy in approach shots and precision while putting. He has to be at his best in both short as well as long game. As a true Robert Trent Jones course, it will test the abilities of the best golfers in the world.
