CHARLOTTE, NC: India’s ace golfer Anirban Lahiri, who’s quite social media savvy, ensures that he keeps his fans up to speed about his performances with his interesting tweets.

 

After the end of the second round of 2017 the PGA Championship held at Quail Hollow, he tweeted: ‘Played rock solid two days. Need to get the putter in the oven. Get my scoring hat on for the weekend. Let's go! #pgachamp #currypower’.

The 30-year-old golfer makes cut at the 2017 PGA Championship and eyes an under-par finish. Lahiri played a bogey-free back nine crowned by a birdie at the last to overcome a loose first nine and post a two-over 73, qualifying for weekend play at Quail Hollow.

 

The Indian golfer was not very upbeat of winning the PGA Championship but has set his sights on an under-par finish after falling 11 strokes behind second-round leaders Hideki Matsuyama and Rory McIlroy.

 

Weather woes

 

Sources had earlier predicted that rain could be a dampener at the 99th PGA Championship. And so it happened. The play was suspended for some time due to bad weather conditions and resumed again after a delay of almost 2 hours.

 

Dark horses steal limelight

 

The second day saw the dominance of not-so known players on the leaderboard. Japan's Hideki Matsuyama shot a brilliant seven-under-par 64 to share the US PGA Championship lead with South Carolina’s Kevin Kisner after a rain-affected second round.

 

2015 PGA Championship winner Jason Day recorded a second-round 5-under 66, highlighted by an eagle-birdie-birdie-birdie stretch on Nos. 7-10, to move to 136 (-6). He is currently two behind Kevin Kisner and Hideki Matsuyama.

 

Big names struggle to make impact
