August 10: Jeev Milkha Singh, created history by becoming the first ever Indian to essay a top-ten finish at a Major championship here yesterday. Jeev's final round card of three-over 73 ensured he aggregated five-over 285 for a tied-ninth finish at the 90th edition of the PGA Championship played at the par-70, 7,395 yard, Oakland Hills Country Club at Bloomfield Township, Michigan. The Chandigarh based pro, pocketed USD 176,725 for his efforts.
A first tee starter, Jeev's front-nine was an epitome of consistency with a sea of pars interrupted by a lone birdie on the third. On his back-nine however, Jeev failed to find his rhythm to drop shots on the 11th, 13th, 14th and 18th to finish with a card of 73.
Earlier round-three, which was washed out on Saturday, was completed where Jeev played to even-par 70 with three birdies (seventh, ninth and 12th ) and as many bogeys (eighth, tenth and 14th).
Harrington's round began with a par followed by a birdie on the second. A bogey on the fifth was offset by a birdie on the very next hole. Making the turn at one-under, Harrington caught fire to stud his card with birdies on the tenth, 12th, 13th and 17th. A lone bogey figured on the 14th.
