August 7: Jeev Milkha Singh, arguably India's greatest ever golfer, is all set to tee it up at the 90th edition of the PGA Championship today. The fourth and final golfing Major of the year 2008, will be played at the par-70, 7,395 yard, Oakland Hills Country Club at Bloomfield Township, Michigan.

Jeev, incidentally holds the distinction of being the first ever Indian to have participated in three of the four Majors namely the Augusta Masters, US Open and the PGA Championship. He was also the first ever Indian to qualify for the US Open (2002) and went one step further by becoming the first ever Indian to make the cut in a Major at that very event.  Thereafter Jeev has played one other US Open where also he made the cut and two Augusta Masters with a 100 per cent cut record in both.

Jeev's first foray at the PGA Championship came in 2007 when he unfortunately missed the cut after shooting rounds of 76 and 74 for a two day tally of 10-over 150. The Chandigarh based pro will however look to rectify that record this time round.

Not two weeks ago, did Jeev record a fantastic win, at the Nagashima Shigeo Invitational Sega Sammy Cup to rake in his third title on the Japanese Tour. Riding on that form, he will be keen to record another first by becoming the first ever Indian winner of a Major.

On Thursday, Jeev will tee it up from the first tee at 7:30 am with DJ Trahan (USA) and Tim Clark (South Africa).
