The first day of one of the greatest tournaments, the Indian Open ended with many Indian Players in top-10. It is taking place at DLF Golf and Country Club.
Indian star Honey Baisoya in the lead after he finished his first round. Teeing off from the first tee, Baisoya had hit three par consecutive shots on the first three holes and then got three consecutive birdies on the next three. He was quite satisfied with his final shot on the 18th as he managed to make it at par. He got a total score of 6-under 66 with one double bogey on 14th. By the end of the first year it seemed that honey got the second place after he got one stroke behind the leader Yannik Paul he scored 7-under 65.

Speaking with 4moles.com, Baisoya sounded happy with his performance as he managed to get the maximum birdie. When asked about the Indian open, he said , “ Indian open is important for Indian players, Indians have played many tournaments here, they are used to this course.” “ I made 8 birdies today with one bad shot on the 14th , this is what DLF is, if you have one bad shot you have to come up strong in the next.” “ I come here everyday, and I think that my putting was very good, especially on the 16th hole where my ball hit the left tree, it came back about 30 yards and I got about 49 yards to make the chip and putt.”
Standing on the solo second position, Mikko Korhonen had a score of 5-under 67 with 5 birdies, 2 bogeys and one fantastic eagle on the 8th.
Shubhankar Sharma, tied 2nd at DLF Golf and Country Club as he finished his first day of the tournament. He got six birdies on 4th, 6th, 8th, 9th, 12th and 13th. While hitting the ball as a bogey on 11th and 15th. The two time DP world Tour winner, hit three strokes behind the leader, scoring 4-under 68 as the first round concluded changing the scenerio of the leaderboard. Sharma got down to 4th place with Angad Cheema who managed to get three consecutive birdies on the 3rd, 4th and 5th, adding three more birdies in the first round and Gudmundur Kristjansson from Ireland.

Talking about sharma's day, he said, “ I am quite pleased with my performance today, the back nine is the tougher nine here in DLF, sometimes you don’t make mistakes but even some good shots are being raised. It happened to me on the back nine.”. But I was being patient". " Every year I play professional golf , I learn lots and lots of things. “
As indians played quite well on the first day, as DLF being the course for many, amoung them was Manu Gandas who had a score of 2-under 70, who got a relaxed birdie hit on the 18th after hiting a disastrous bogey on the 17th. He is one of the rising star in Indian golf. M Dharma, 36 year old Indian golfer tied with Gandas on 8th positioin.
