Toyota Etios Junior Golf Tour

December 30th 2010, Bangalore, India: Eagleton golfer Chikkarangappa won the finale and created history at the All India Junior nationals by becoming the first player in India, in 50 years, to hold both men’s and junior titles at the same time. It was a close battle between Chikka and Saqib when the later scored 8 under par for the day after 10 holes. But a fight back from Chikka declared him as the winner of the tournament. Carding 6 birdies, he finished the day at 6 under 66 in Category A&B for Boys. His total for the tournament stood at 286 (75;71;74;66). Saqib Ahmad with total of 289 (74;78;71;66) was 3 shots behind the winner. Florida resident Rigel Fernandes finished at third with total of 291 (72;71;78;70).

Category C for Boys saw Prakhar Asawa finish at the top with total of 288 (73;74;68;73). He was followed by Piyush Sangwan 289 (72;74;70;73) and Karandeep Kochhar 314 (76;80;79;79) respectively.

In the Girls Category A&B, Delhi’s Gurbani Singh took the top honour with total of 224 (74;79;71). Meher Atwal followed her with total of 228 (76;76;76). Aditi Ashok with, one shot behind Atwal, finished with total of 229 (79;73;77). Ridhima Dilawari with total of 230 (78;80;72) topped Category C for Girls, followed by Seher Atwal 234 (81;77;76) and Ankita Kedlaya 235 (80;80;75) respectively.

Kshitij Naveed Kaul with total of 241 (78;82;81) at the top of Category D for Boys & Girls followed by Aadil Bedi 249 (85;83;81) and Digraj Gill 254 (84;83;87) respectively.


Player of the Year


Toyota Etios rewarded Bangalore golfer Trishul Chinappa and Delhi Golfer Gurbani Singh as the player of the year at the National Finals. Both performed in a very promising manner through the tournament and will be flashing the accolade through the year. Both the deserving candidates received a personalized Golf kit which includes a golf bag, dozens of TaylorMade balls, caps & other golf accessories. Last year this title was bagged by Kapurthala golfer Ashbeer Saini.
