Is Indian Golf Ready for a League With Identity?

image
Posted by Aksh Gupta 17 Feb 26'

Indian golf has seen tournaments.
It has seen Pro-Ams.
It has seen prize purses grow.

What it has not seen — until now — is identity.

GRPL has officially launched The Royal Trial of India, a first-of-its-kind travelling, city-based PRO-AM league that shifts the conversation from individual scorecards to collective pride.

Eight teams.
Six cities.
One trophy.

Beyond format, the league introduces narrative — where amateurs and professionals compete under one city banner, and every stroke directly impacts the live points table.

Momentum will travel.
Pressure will build.
Rivalries will form.

The season will culminate at an international grand finale, where one city will rise and be crowned the first Champion of The Royal Trial of India.

GRPL positions this not as an exhibition, but as a movement — inspired by the philosophy of earning supremacy through discipline and mastery rather than force.

In a sport traditionally defined by individual pursuit, GRPL asks a disruptive question:

What happens when golf becomes about belonging?

The arena is open.
The banners are rising.
History awaits its first champion.
