On Thursday morning at The
Amundi Evian Championship, two players made holes-in-one. Amateur Chun-Wei Wu aced the par-3 5th hole from 177 yards with a 5-iron, marking her first
hole-in-one in a major championship. Wu, playing in her second LPGA Tour event, finished with an even-par 71.
Jodi Ewart Shadoff followed with her own ace on the par-3 16th hole, the 16th ace of her career, using a 9-iron from 148 yards. Shadoff’s hole-in-one earned her a €180,000 Porsche credit and a $20,000 donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, with Wu’s ace also prompting a similar donation.
Both players expressed happiness about contributing to the charitable cause. These aces are the seventh and eighth made at The Amundi Evian Championship since it became a major.
