The 27-hole Panya Indra Golf Club designed by Ronald Fream & David Dale of the USA opened in 1991. The golf course is just off the Outer Ring Road, which makes for short travel times from Bangkok city center and is usually reachable in 30 minutes or less from most hotels. The courses aptly named are the Lagoon Course, Palm Course, and Garden Course. The golf course has been extensively landscaped with colorful flowering plants, shrubs, and bushes to provide beautiful backdrops to most of the holes. Fairways are palm tree-lined, and lakes and ponds come into play on almost every hole at Panya Indra. The deep bunkers have sculptured, and the smooth flowing lines of fairways give the course a natural feel in a city environment.
