Opened in 1975 based on the original design by Fukuichi Kato, the course was remodeled in 1996 under the supervision of the king of golf, Jack Nicklaus, by an American shaper who had worked on many famous courses in the United States, faithfully preserving the original form of the golf course. The East Course, with its classic appearance, majestic scale and timeless beauty at a distance of 7,416 yards, has been chosen as the stage for national open tournaments such as the Japan Open and the Japan Senior Open. The setting is extremely challenging, and in addition to the orthodox beauty of a golf course, it also combines toughness and international standard strategy.
