Opened in 1975 based on the original design by Fukuichi Kato, the course was remodeled in 1996 under the supervision of the king of golf, Jack Nicklaus, by an American shaper who had worked on many famous courses in the United States, faithfully preserving the original form of the golf course. The West Course, laid out using modern techniques, is a course with a rich and varied design. Each hole is expressive, and the strategy is well-established, so players will never get bored. It is a 36-hole course that requires clear strategies, courage, and calm self-control, backed by skill, to challenge the schemes presented by each course, and to try to conquer them using a variety of techniques and ball control.
