After the resounding success of the Audi quattro Cup in its inaugural year in India in 2008, on huge demand by their customers, Audi has returned in less than a years’ gap with Audi quattro Cup 2009. With its increasing popularity this year the Chandigarh, Mumbai, & Pune leg have been added to the already existing Delhi & Bangalore regionals.

Audi enthralled the Mumbai golfers today, Saturday, April 4th at the Willingdon Sports Club, which was in a perfect condition & put the participants golfing skills through a difficult test.

Speaking on the occasion, Benoit Tiers said, “Audi quatrro cup 2009 is an attempt to build a relationship with our customers for the 2nd year in row; to make them feel special and also to make them a part of the global Audi family. It was being held in other parts of the world in 42 countries for the past 18 years. Throughout the world where Audi has its presence this event is an annual feature.”

Queried on Audi's association with golf he said “Precision, performance, elegance and “Vorsprung durch Technik. Audi and golfing have a lot in common. Designed for and involving people who combine the most exacting demands with passion and style. With such unique similarities between the two, it was natural for us to bring this high-class international amateur golf tournament to India”

The highlight of the event was Beat the Pro Rahil Ganjee Contest. The Deal: Anyone who could hit the ball longer than Rahil , the US$300,000 2006 China Open champion at the 1st hole was to win a prize and as expected Rahil gave a tough time to all the gentleman golfers with him prowess with his club. Many faltered and only a handful tasted success in front of the Calcutta based Asian Tour star, who turned pro in 2000. Among other contest, the Audi rock steady team contest for maximum pars on the scorecard.

This year National finals are scheduled to be held in October, where top three winning team from each regional leg will be competing to win themselves a chance to represent India at the World Finals of the Audi quattro Cup to be held in Australia in December 2009.

The team of Mr. Rohit Poddar & Mr. Vijay Chabaria emerged as top winning team of the day with a team score of 38 pts, followed by Mr. Navroze Marshall & Aditya Malkani & Mr. Dinesh Lal & S.K Shetty.Apart from all the prizes and goodies they also won themselves entry into the National Finals.

The other winners of the day were Mr. Jamshed Mehta for the Longest Drive, Mr.Vikram Sud for Closest to the Pin and Mr. Tarak Patel for the Straightest Drive.

The golfing rounds were followed by lavish lunch, cocktails & lounge music hosted to foster an interaction between the participants and provide the occasion of an interaction between the members of the Audi India family.

Dressed in red tees and black trousers the team from Even Par Events Management who were overall in charge for managing the event saw to it that every guest had a rocking time at this once in year annual event.
