Round 3 of the Ladies European Tour Q-School pre-qualifiers has come to an end.The tournament in Spain has taken up the pace as few golfers moved up the points table, While few struggled to make a mark.
At the end of round 3, Swedish golfer Lisa Pettersson has consolidated her lead to (-9) at par. She has been playing the sport consistently this week and retained the top spot.
With only one birdie and two single-bogeys in the first nine, she didn’t seem to be in great touch. But, then she scored four birdies in the next half at the 10th, 14th, 15th and the 17th hole and managed to score 69 at the end.
“I struggled in the beginning a little bit. I felt I was almost off on everything – my driver, my irons and my putting,” said Pettersson. “I really got it together on the last five or six holes, pulled off some good birdies and finished strong. It was a good day.”
For India, the top scorer Gaurika Bishnoi scored 70,(-1) at par. However, she is (+3) at par, in terms of the overall score for the three rounds so far. She spent her time in round 3, hitting five birdies at the 2nd, 3rd, 7th, 8th and the 17th hole, which helped her move up the table and end up at T20. It looks like she has got the rhythm and the spectators are keen to see how she performs in the last round.
Up next, the second top performer for India is Jahanvi Bakshi. She was leading the Indian campaign till round 2 but then she failed to make an impact in round 3 playing from the South Course. Scoring just one birdie, five single-bogeys and one double-bogey, she managed to score 79 in round 3. She closed round 3 at T51 with an overall score of seven-above-par.
The third best performer, Seher Atwal scored 73 in round 3. With birdies at the 8th and the 12th hole, she managed to be at T74 at the end of round 3. She scored two birdies at the 8th and the 12th hole. But, two single-bogeys at the 3rd and the 17th hole didn’t favour her.
Mim Sangkapong, on the other hand moved up the score table after a brilliant performance in the Round 3. She was three-above-par with two birdies at the 6th and 10th hole. But, the single-bogeys at the 8th, 17th and the 18th hole should be a point to be considered for her. She would look forward to hitting more birdies in round 4 to get a remarkable position in the score table.
