Jeev Milkha Singh narrowly misses out on US Open berth (2012)

India’s Jeev Milkha Singh narrowly missed out on a spot in the U.S. Open when he finished one shot back of the last qualifiers at Walton Heath, England on Monday.

 

The two-time Asian Tour number one posted rounds of 71 and 68 for a five-under-par 139 total in the International Sectional Qualifier which awarded 11 spots to the year’s second Major next month. Singh will be the second alternate for the event.

 

Five players finished on 138 which required a play-off to determine the final four qualifiers. Korea’s Kim Sih-wan was eliminated in the second extra hole.
