From a promising talent to a celebrated champion, 24-year-old Justin Thomas has come a long way. The American Professional Golfer has pulled off yet another incredible feat by becoming the PGA Tour Player of the Year.
Thomas was voted PGA Tour player of the year by his peers for his noteworthy season of five straight triumphs, his first major championship at Quail Hollow and the much coveted FedEx Cup title. Interestingly, the powerhouse of talent represented the U.S. for the first time as a pro on one of its national teams, competing in the Presidents Cup.

We give you a lowdown of some lesser known facts about the ace golfer who has captured many hearts with his game.
1) After illustrious Professional Golfers like Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and Jordan Spieth, Thomas is the only player since 1960 to earn five victories, including a major, in a season before the age of 25.
2) Not many know that Golf runs deep in the family of Justin Thomas. He's a third-generation member of the PGA of America. Thomas' father Mike is the head pro at Harmony Landing Country Club in Goshen, while his grandfather Paul was the head pro at Zanesville Country Club for over 25 years.
Interestingly, his grandfather played in the US Open, where he was once paired with none other than Arnold Palmer.

Justin Thomas's father and grandfather were both longtime PGA Professionals
3) Those who openly shun the perception of solidarity with competitors in individual sports- can go take a walk! Jordan Spieth and Justin Thomas, who’ve been long-time friends since they were 14, defy the dictum that friendships are hard to forge when you're rivals on the greens.

4) A Tiger Woods fan, Justin Thomas’s first words were ‘bag of balls’. The ace Golfer picked up the game of Golf at the age of two.
5) In 25 starts, the Kentucky native had a TOUR-best 12 top-10 finishes (tied with Spieth) with 19 made cuts. In addition to his five wins, Thomas added four additional top-five finishes, led by a runner-up effort at the TOUR Championship. He also took home the Arnold Palmer Award as the TOUR’s leading money-winner ($9,921,560) and finished third in Adjusted Scoring Average (69.359). Last week in his Presidents Cup debut, Thomas posted a record of 3-1-1 for the victorious U.S. Team at Liberty National Golf Club.
