5 Indian Women Golfers to watch out in 2022

The year 2021 was where we witnessed a lot of golfers dominating the sport. Not only the men, but the female golfers also impressed the spectators. Their amazing display of the game impressed everyone, and they were the reason the viewers of the game shifted their attention to the ladies golf. Indian golfers impressed the world even at the olympics. Though there was no medal for India in golf, they won the hearts of the spectators at the event. And 2022 would definitely be the year to watch out for ladies golf stars. Hence, We have listed five Indian ladies to watch out for in 2022 in golf.

 

  1. Aditi Ashok

The 23-year old golfer from Bangalore has played the game exceptionally well in the past few years. Aditi plays in the Ladies European tour and the LPGA tour. She recently represented India in the 2020 Summer Olympics in which she was ranked 200th in the world in the single stroke play event. After a steady start in the olympics, she stood up at the 2nd position but at the end she missed it by a bit. She was applauded by the nation for her top notch performance in the Olympics. The Arjuna Award winner will try to play her A-game in 2022 to leave her mark in the golfing world. She is currently ranked 125th in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.


 

 2. Amandeep Drall

Amandeep Drall from Panchkula appeared at the recently held Ladies European Tour Q-School qualifiers. Having won the Hero WPGT twice this year, Drall outshined and presented her talent. The youngster then appeared at the Ladies European tour final-qualifier and finished at T39 in the pool of some experienced international golfers. She was the only Indian to make a cut to the final round of the LET Q-School final-qualifier. The Women’s Golfers Association of India has ranked Amandeep at the 1st position, as she is the highest earning women golfer this year in India earning Rs. 16,50,750. Hence, She would be one of the players to watch out for in the upcoming year. 


 

3. Vani Kapoor

Another name in the list is Delhi golfer Vani Kapoor. She is a flamboyant golfer with one Hero WPGT title. She became the first Indian to grab the 2019 Australian LPGA card. She was also among the Indian golfers who appeared in the Ladies European Tour. Q-School qualifiers recently. She played a brilliant game there but unfortunately, she wasn’t able to make a cut to the last round. She made Rs. 14,74,550 this year playing the game and was ranked 2nd by the Women’s Golf Association of India. Hence, the upcoming year would be very crucial for her to play some good golf and to set the bar high.


 

4. Jahanvi Bakshi

The four-times pro title winner Jahanvi Bakshi is another golfer who would look forward to playing and winning more tournaments in 2022. She won the Hero WPGT 2021 recently and then participated in the qualifying round of the LET 2022. She would be a bit disappointed but would be happy with her performance throughout the year. She has been ranked 3rd by the WGAI order of merit with an earning of Rs. 13,32,733. The followers of the game know her capability and hence would be keen to see how 2022 would go for her.

 

5. Seher Atwal

The next lady in our list is Seher Atwal from New Delhi. The golfer turned out to be the winner at the 4th leg of the Hero WPG Tour, which was her maiden pro win. She participated in the LET Q-School qualifying round as well and played fairly well. Though her performance was not something that wasn’t appreciated, she played fairly well there. She was ranked 4th by the Women’s Golf Association of India this year and has earned Rs. 11,69,900 in the year playing the sport. Hence, her performance in 2022 would be worth noticing.
