Indian Star Anirban Lahiri had finished a creditable second again in Adelaide LIV golf event, a week after finishing second in Vietnam. He shot a brilliant 7-under 65 final round on Sunday, when he tried to stay focused as his mother-in-law passed away in Pune battling against cancer.

Lahiri stood 3 shots behind the leader Talor Gooch, 31, who shot 62-62 on the first two days, dropped four shots in four holes in the middle of the round but held on to card of one-over 73 and win at 19-under by three shots. Lahiri, who started on the second hole, went to eight-under after 16 holes but closed with a par and bogey and finished seven-under for the day. He played nine-under after two rounds of three-under and six-under, closed with seven-under to total 16-under.
In the team event, 4Aces led by Dustin Johnson (13-under) and comprising Pat Perez (15-under), Peter Uihlein (14-under) and Patrick Reed (15-under) were the winners, while Lahiri's team Crushers finished fifth.

Anirban Lahiri
Lahiri started the day 11 shots behind a rampant Gooch, who shot successive rounds of 10-under par 62 on Friday and Saturday to open what seemed an unbeatable 10-shot lead over the field. But Lahiri, now ranked 91st in the world, started from the second hole and caught fire with three birdies and an eagle on the 7th hole in the five-hole stretch from the fourth.
There was a time when the gap between the two toppers on the leaderboard was two shots, it was when Gooch had a double bogey on the 10th and moments after Anirban had hit birdie on the same hole.
It was Gooch's first LIV Golf wins at 19-under par where he took $4million whereas Lahiri got $2.125million as a prize money. The highlight point was for Chase Koepka who made a superb hole-in-one in the tournament.
