June 20th 2016: The golfing fraternity of Ahmedabad witnessed a very remarkable moment. Two golfers from the city, Siddharth Naik and Brijesh Patel attempted and created a Guinness World Record by playing 319 holes in 12 hours. They had to play more than 270 holes in 12 hours to break the record of 261 holes held by Katsuya Takasu and Koji Ishida (both from Japan) at Kyowa Country Club, Japan on 2nd August 2011.

The golfing duo teed off at 5:45 A.M. on Monday and completed 15 rounds by 5:45 P.M. They had played 270 holes by 3:50 P.M.

The Ahmedabad pair then added 41 more holes for a new Limca Book of Records of 360 holes in 20 rounds through out the day.

The 5th round was their fastest which they completed in 37 minutes and 40 seconds.


Format of play was Stroke Play Alternate Shots.

Siddharth and Brijesh hold two other records in Limca Book of Records. One for playing maximum holes in a day which was set at 182 in 2014. The second record was for playing all golf courses in Ahmedabad (10 courses) in one day set in 2015. The duo had teed off at 5.47 A.M. at AEPTA Golden Katar course and ended the day at 5:16 P.M. at the Kensville Golf & Country Club, in Ahmedabad.
