After Poom Saksansin, Pavit Tangkamolprasert and Jazz Jazz Janewattananond, here’s another professional Golfer from Thailand, who’s currently making waves on the global Golf landscape.
Meet 27-year-old Pannakorn Uthaipas, who fired a four-under-par 68 to take the opening round lead at the PGM MIDF Championship without playing a practice round.

Pannakorn Uthaipas has moved to 593rd from 957th position in the OWGR ranking
The talented Thai, who is ranked second on the Asian Development Tour (ADT) Order of Merit, traded four birdies and one eagle against two bogeys to lead over countryman Kasidit Lepkurte at the Templer Park Country Club.
The 27-year-old Pannakorn produced a stunning eagle-three on the seventh hole when his three-wood approach shot from 260 yards landed inches from the hole.
He admits that it was a challenging day without playing a practice round but took advantage of his accurate tee shots and short game.

Uthaipas won his first Asian Development Tour (ADT) Title in June 2017
“It wasn’t easy but I had my local caddy to thank. He is Ben Leong’s regular caddy so he really helped me today. I was hitting the ball really good from the tees and my putting was also good,” said Pannakorn.
“I didn’t play a practice round because I had to do my Pakistan visa for next week’s ADT tournament but I’ve played this course many times so I know the course quite well,” he added.
Not many know but Pannakorn made huge strides on the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) where he moved to 593rd from 957th position.
He is aiming for another good result on home soil to boost his chances of staying inside the top-five on the Order of Merit at the end of the season to earn a 2018 Asian Tour card.
