Delhi's Qutab Golf Course gets a new facelift

The newly re-laid back-9 holes at Delhi’s Qutab Golf Course were opened on Saturday, 5th December 2020 culminating the redevelopment of the 18-hole facility initiated in 2016. Delhi Lt. Governor, Shri Anil Baijal inaugurated the refurbished field.

DDA has developed 15 sports complexes, 3 mini sports complexes, 15 swimming pools, 26 multi gyms in green areas and several play fields and fitness trails across the city. DDA developed the first public golf course in India, the Qutab Golf Course (QGC), which was inaugurated on 2nd January 2000. The QGC, which has been a popular destination for the golfing community of Delhi and NCR, has popularized the game in the city.

 

A major tree planting exercise has helped the course become tougher. It is nestled in the greens of Lado Sarai, about 5km off the Ring Road, on way to Qutub Minar. With the commissioning of the 18-hole and with its Pay and Play facility, the DDA has brought the game of Golf at the door steps of the general public, who so far, could not afford playing on the few and exclusive golf clubs in and around Delhi.

 

Redevelopment of the Qutab Golf Course started in 2016 and after completion of the redevelopment of Phase-I of the course, the front-9 holes of the course were inaugurated by Shri Anil Baijal, Hon’ble Lt Governor of Delhi, on 7th October 2018. The new club house at the course was also inaugurated on 24th February 2019.

 

After completion of the redevelopment of the Phase-II of the Qutab Golf Course, the back-9 holes of the course were inaugurated by Shri Anil Baijal, Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Delhi, who is also the Chairman of Delhi Development Authority (DDA), on 5th December 2020 in the presence of Shri Anurag Jha, Vice Chairman, DDA.

 

Newly constructed state-of-the-art driving range also inaugurated on 5th December 2020.

 

A state-of-the-art driving range which has been newly constructed was also inaugurated by Shri Anil Baijal, Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Delhi on 5th December 2020. The double level driving range has 28 bays along with a number of other facilities like, simulator room, teaching room, fitting room, pro shop, coffee shop, etc. the range is floodlit and also has an artificial turf putting arena. The 250 yards driving range in the golf course, combined with the training facilities available, makes the Qutab Golf Course a haven for beginners.

The lush green Qutab Golf Course has made its way into every Golfer’s heart. Now with the fresh green turf and stunning views, the golf course has taken the golfing experience even a notch higher.

 

DDA has also developed a 9-hole public golf course at Bhalswa. Work has been awarded for a championship level golf course with yardage of over 7100 yards at Sector 24, Dwarka. Work also has commenced on development of several Centers of Excellence and new sports complexes at Dwarka and Rohini.

    QGC has become a full 18 holes great course. Driving range is so classy & beautiful, with all facilities enough to beat any in a private course. Kudos & Congratulations DDA!!
