Thailand’s Apichaya Yubol is the latest Golfing sensation, who’s making waves at the international Golfing circuit. The 16-year-old Amateur from Saraburi recently grabbed headlines when she recently won a record fifth straight Thai LPGA event after she beat Dussavi Soopimjit by a stroke in the final round of Singha-SAT Thai LPGA Championship at the Majo Golf Resort and Resort in Chiang Mai.

16-year-old from Saraburi shot a final 71 for a total four-under-par-212 to win the eighth and final leg of the Thai LPGA event after dominating the fourth to the seventh legs in Hua Hin (Royal Club) in May, the 5th in Rayong in June, the sixth in Hua Hin (Black Mountain Golf Club) in July and the previous stop earlier this month in Khon Kaen.

“I'm happy to make it five in a row. But I wasn't happy with the final round as I missed too many short putts," said Apichaya who won the winner's prize money of Bt 142,000. Dussavi, 20, signed off with a 27 on 213 and earned Bt 96,285.”

Apichaya or ‘Piano’ as she is known to friends and family, had earlier celebrated her 16th birthday with three birdies on both the front and back nines to win her first crown after two years on the pro circuit.

It’s indeed heartening to see that more and more raw Golfing talent is carving a niche of their own on the international Golf turf and riding the crest of success like never before.
