There is some exciting news from Sentosa Golf Club, Singapore where the tournament is going forward. The Thai players participating in the tournament are playing their A-game, which is a treat for spectators of the sport and an immensely proud moment for a country.
Suradit Yongcharoenchai of Thailand at SMBC Singapore Open
Taehoon Ok sensationally eagled the two par fives on the front nine of the tough Serapong Course at Sentosa Golf Club today to help take the clubhouse lead, along with Thailand’s Suradit Yongcharoenchai, on the opening day of the US$1.25 million SMBC Singapore Open.
Ok and Suradit fired five-under-par 66s in the final event of the season on the Asian Tour to lead from Korean Sihwan Kim, Thailand’s Sadom Kaewkanjana, and Justin De Los Santos from the Philippines who returned 67s.Suradit had a chance to take the outright lead but missed an eagle putt on the par-five 18th from 15 feet. Impressively, he went round bogey free.
“Really happy today,” said Suradit.
“I played good, putting was okay, I made tee shots that were very good today but some second shots on par threes were not so good, but it’s okay.”
Sadom Kaewkanjana of Thailand at SMBC Singapore Open
On second day, Sadom Kaewkanjana managed to collect four birdies in his bag at 1st, 7th and 18th hole and three single bogeys which helped him in finishing the day 2 of the tournament on T3. While Suradit Yongcharoenchai, slips down to T9 from T1 on the second day, scoring two over par and collecting four birdies at 3rd, 9th, 16th and 18th hole with three single bogeys which is quite disappointing for him after a good lead on first day of the tour, but the game is still on and he might cover up it in coming days with his better performance.
Other players from thailand who didn’t missed the cut on day 2 and playing the game consistently on a good level are Kosuke Hamamoto who tied on 9th position, Danthai Boonma, Ittipat Burananatanyarat and Phachara Khongwatmai are tied on rank 23th. Amateur golfer, Ratchanon Chantananuwat alongwith Gunn Charoenkul tied on 31st position at par.
