About me: I am a 24 year old professional golfer from Mysore, Karnataka. I started playing golf at the age of 10 through a junior camp conducted by my home club, Jayachamarajendra Wadiyar Golf club in Mysore. I turned professional in August last year.

My Golf inspiration: I saw my father playing golf and got interested in playing this game. As my father was a member of JWGC, the course was easily accessible for me. My interest in the game got doubled when I watched a professional tournament in Eagleton and that gave me a desire to compete with all the top players.

Why Golf and not any other sport: Mainly because golf is such a versatile game.you can play alone or with up to 3 of your friends at a time. And you can play it in so many formats like match play , stroke play, Texas scramble etc which makes it even more fun. Also, if you see professional careers are longer in golf than most sports.

Golfing achievements

Winning the rookie of the year for the 2018 season in PGT I was big for me as I turned pro only in the second half of the season.

Finishing 2nd in Pune last week has been my best finish so far on PGT I.

The first time I represented India as an amateur in South Africa was very special to me.

Finishing top 10 there at leopard Creek golf club in my first international amateur event made it even more memorable.

Happiest Golf moment: When I won my first tournament in my home club I was so small that the sponsorer of the tournament Mr Rayan Irani lifted me up on the stage to show me to the audience.

One thing I would like to change about Golf: I think it would become more challenging if we were allowed only 5 to 6  clubs of our choice in the bag.

On top of that fewer clubs force you to be more inventive and 'create shots'. And it would be also nice to have some two-day events mostly during the weekends to attract more audience.
