My father, my inspiration: My father has played a consequential role in encouraging me to take up Golf. He made it a point to take me to the Golf range religiously. Initially, it was a little uninteresting for me. However, when I got a lot of acclamation from people about my swing, I was quite motivated to practise the same every day. And in the whole process, I just fell in love with the game. That’s how my odyssey with Golf began.

Another major inspiration to play Golf: I completed my first tournament and I got really bullied by this girl who was number 1 at that time. It was the most horrible experience and I decided not to ever play this game again. My parents told me to quit after beating that girl.

That feeling to represent India in the Asian Games:  The feeling cannot be explained in words. It’s just like playing in the Olympics, getting to represent your country at such a big platform, playing alongside the best players in the world AND A huge step up and a sense of accomplishment. It also encourages you to work harder and achieve even bigger things in life.

On promoting Junior Golf in India:  I feel promoting junior Golf in India is the order of the day. I truly believe that Golf has grown and still has a long way to go. More junior competitions, summer camps can be conducted, more big pro events like the European or PGA tour should be held with huge media coverage and publicity. A lot of encouragement should be given to the junior and upcoming players. Moreover, a lot of involvement of the sponsors can give a fillip to the game.

Dream Golf moment: It would be winning all the 5 majors like the US Open, Ana Inspiration, British Open, Evian championship and the Women’s PGA Championship.
