About me: A 20-year-old Professional Golfer who believes Golf is not just a sport but a way of life. Currently playing on the women’s golf tour in India. And yes, I completed my under graduation in Bachelors of Business Administration.

 

 

How Golf turned out to be my life: I'm 20 years old and it’s been only about golf since I was 6. I started golf as 'just another sport' but never thought it would turn into my life. I thank my father for introducing this sport to me because I don't think I would ever try my hand at this if it wasn't for him. I've been very competitive since I was young, at everything I ever did. I did try my hand in tennis and loved to swim but I truly fell in love with golf. It is one sport that brings out your real character. I knew for a fact that I wanted to turn into a professional golfer. Very glad I could follow my dreams, and my family has supported me on every step and decision I made.

 

My Golfing achievements: I have won a few events as a junior. Zonal tour below 18 girls’ category. As an amateur I was ranked 8th in the country in A category.

As a professional I won my first tournament in Delhi golf club in 2016. Came second in Karnataka golf association and Delhi Golf Club in august 2017 and September 2017 respectively. Currently ranked 8th on the Indian merit list of WGAI.

On Women’s Golf in India: Women’s Golf in India is progressing gradually. There are a lot of young girls who are willing to play the sport and this would eventually grow their interest for the sport. I personally feel that children in schools and clubs should be encouraged to play the sport. The underprivileged should get extra benefits and support. All the women golfers should take up the initiative to help grow golf amongst the young girls as well inspire them.

 

 

Golf is rapidly growing in India: It is a well-recognised sport even amongst the middle class now. With great achievements by some of our fellow Indian players. It has been an amazing phase for the history of Indian Golf. Indian golf has so much of youth, potential and talent.
