With a determination to stage the world in the tricolours, Aditi Ashok was all set to play the green turfs at Tokyo after her experience with Rio Olympics 2016. Being the youngest player five years ago, Aditi Ashok came in with a spark to make history and this year seems like she might just achieve her goal.

Closing Round 1, with 4 under par 67, tied 2nd on the leaderboard, Aditi Ashok has made an evident mark to begin the Women's Individual Stroke Play at Tokyo Olympics. With five birdies at Hole 5, 9, 13, 14 and 17 and a bogey at the 18th Hole, Aditi shares her position with USA's Nelly Korda who paced her game on the same scores with six birdies and two bogeys in her pack.
Leading the charts high and wild is Sweden's Madelene Sagstrom closed at T1 with 5 under 66 by the end of Round 1. The other names who've paced in the top 10 route are Finland's Matilda Castren, South Korea's Ko Jin-young and Spain's Carlota Ciganda tying fourth on the leaderboard.

Indian Golfer Diksha Dagar, the latest entry to the Olympic Games finished T56 by the end of Round 1 with six bogeys and the hope to play better by the next round at the Games.
