It is the second day of The Singapore International bringing to us an exciting second round of golf. With India’s Khalin H Joshi stupefying the spectators with his game-play in round 1, today the tables seemed to have turned as things seem more in favour of Thailand because the Tampines Course observes a whole different situation than yesterday.
The day started with an applaudable performance from Rattanon Wannasrichan and Chantananuwat Ratchanon of Thailand who occupied the first two positions respectively in the beginning and set to the top of the leader board for quite a bit of time. Ratchanon, nicknamed “TK”, also returned a 66 while first-round leader Joshi carded a 74. Not paying heed to the first round’s proceedings, they started afresh and made most out of the opportunity provided to them by the day. Chantananuwat Ratchanon who was right below Rattanon started the day with a birdie in the very first hole and more in holes 9, 12, and 15 with also an eagle in hole 8.

Golfers pushed past their usual zest and putt the balls with utmost precision. Each of the Thailand players left a mark on today’s round as they slowly and steadily made their way to the top of the leader board. “The 18th was playing downwind. My second shot was with a three wood, it was a low cut. I was just hoping for a good shot, and it finished 10 feet away. It was a little but lucky,” quoted Rattanon Wannasrichan. Janewattananond Jazz who continued to tackle one hole at a time made it to the fifth position 2 under par 40 in the 10th hole in the duration of the match. Tangkamolprasert Pavit who was battling for the ninth position with other players soon rolled up to the sixth position right below Jazz with birdies on holes 7, 8, 9, 12 and 18.
On the other hand, Chantananuwat Ratchanon who was in the second position after Wannasrichan, got pushed further below in between the match by USA’s Peterson Paul just to make it back to his original position as the second best after some laudable shots at a few more holes. Such a commendable start from the Thai players thrilled the watchers who stayed stuck to their seats.

The round 2 of The Singapore International ended with a lot of effort from all the players. The Thailand flag filled the top positions as Rattanon Wannasrichan's birdies on holes 2, 7, 8, 9, and 12 and a heartfelt eagle on the last hole got him rightfully occupying the first position. “Today I played very well. My shots were very good. I am super happy. I had one bogey and it was a three putt. Every hole was so good. This course is so difficult, very, very difficult and windy. I am super surprised because this course is so hard.” said Rattanon Wannasrichan. He was closely followed by Chantananuwat Ratchanon who was tied for the second place with India’s Khalin H Joshi.
Janewattananond Jazz who kept up the spirit of golf throughout the second round, emerged with the sixth position followed by Srithong Natipong and Tangkamolprasert Pavit who were both tied for the ninth place with the others. Things in todays round looked positively up for Thailand and hope it continues to do so in the future too.
