A financial report says Rory McIlroy might soon sign a big deal worth $850 million with LIV Golf. This would be a big change because Rory used to strongly oppose LIV Golf.

According to City A.M., people who know about the deal think it could be announced after The Masters golf tournament. But they're still checking if this is true. Along with the $850 million, Rory might also get a small piece of ownership in LIV Golf.
Since LIV Golf started in 2022, Rory didn't like it. He preferred other golf tours. But things changed when the PGA Tour and the Saudi Public Investment Fund decided to work together. Rory started supporting this partnership.
Before this news, Rory's old manager, Chubby Chandler, thought Rory might join LIV Golf. Rory didn't say no but didn't confirm either.
Even though Rory said before that he didn't want to join LIV, he's now thinking about it because of the money. He understands why other players might join for the money too.
Even though Rory still talks bad about LIV Golf, he's not as harsh on players who join for the money. He used to judge them but now he gets it. During a recent golf tournament, LIV Golf's CEO was there watching Rory play. But Rory says he didn't see him. Rory is still playing in PGA Tour events like the RBC Heritage and will play in the Zurich Classic too.
