Kartik Triumphs in Inaugural Optimas-JAGA Series

In the latest golfing events, young talents shone brightly at the Optimas JAGA International Series inaugural event held at Al Ain Golf Course. Following his recent triumph at the US Kids Golf Thailand Championship, a rising star, Kartik Singh, clinched victory in the Boys U-15 category with an impressive performance, carding rounds of 69-70-65 for a total score of 12-under par.

Meanwhile, Dubai-born Indian golfer Natalii Gupta showcased her prowess on the greens, securing the Girls U-23 and Overall Championship titles by shooting 1-under par. Lavanya Gupta claimed victory in the Girls U-18 category, posting a score of 4-over par.



Sanctioned by the Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), the JAGA tournament series introduces the Optimas – JAGA International Series Order of Merit. This initiative aims to elevate competition standards for elite student-golfers across Asia Pacific and Africa, providing them with a pathway for development. Notably, the series awards World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) points, enhancing its significance in the amateur golfing circuit.

The inaugural championship boasted an impressive lineup featuring 11 WAGR-ranked players and two NCAA Division 1 commits, including prospects set to join the prestigious Duke University golf program. Representing 24 different countries and 16 golf associations, the diverse field ensured a global showcase of talent. The competition included various age categories, offering a comprehensive platform for young golfers to exhibit their skills and compete at the highest level.
