The Haryana boy , Naveen Rathi won the IGU Eastern India Junior Boys Golf Championship 2023 that took place at the prestigious Royal Calcutta Golf Club (RCGC). It is considered as one of the country’s most competitive junior golf tournaments for boys.

This year, the tournament witnessed 103 golfers with most of them competing across four rounds, except for the boys in the C (below 13 years) category, who had three rounds of golf.
Naveen won the championship title with a total score of 291 in around of four rounds of the tournament. Another player from Haryana, Arjun Singh Bhatia was the runner up and Delhi’s Rakhit Dahiya finished third (294) in A Category Boys. Kartik Singh of Haryana won the B Category Boys’ title with a score of 295 in four rounds, and Anshul Mishra of West Bengal finished second with 300.
Anshul finished second on a count-back basis, as he played better in the final round than Delhi’s Ranveer Mitroo, who finished third. Punjab’s Arjun Veer Shishir won the C Category Boys title with a score of 217 in three rounds, West Bengal’s Varish Mohta finished second with 228 (better final round score) and Arihaan Beri from Uttar Pradesh secured the third place.
The prize distribution ceremony was presented by the RCGC golf captain Rohan Ghosh, RCGC CEO Devrishi Singhal, RCGC golf convener Ranjit Singh, and Indian Golf Union tournament director Paramjit Singh.
