Ariya Jutanugarn, Atthaya Thitikul, Patty Tavatanakit and Wichanee Meechai closed Day 1 at the AIG Women’s Open tied 22nd on the leaderboard with 1 under 71 at Carnoustie Golf Links.

By the end of Day 1, Ariya Jutanugarn, Atthaya Thitikul and Wichanee Meechai tied 22nd at 1 under 71 along with India’s Aditi Ashok Scotland’s Kylie Henry, South Korea’s Chella Choi, USA’s Lauren Stephenson, Canada’s Brooke Henderson and 13 other players who are competing for the trophy.
Ariya Jutanugarn closed the day with three birdies and two bogeys, along with Patty Tavatanakit and Atthaya Thitikul with four birdies and two bogeys clubbed in right with Wichanee Meechai with four birdies and three bogeys.

Amidst the other Thai golfers, Moriya Jutanugarn and Pajaree Anannarukarn are tied 41 with an equal par of 72, along with Pannarat Thanapolboonyaras at T90, Jasmine Suwannapura and Pornanong Phatlum tied 100, Prima Thammaraks at T118 and Trichat Cheenglab at T132.
The leaderboard is dominated by South Korea’s Kim Sei-young, the USA’s Nelly Korda and Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom tied 1 on the leaderboard with 5 under 67 at Day 1.
With high hopes for Day 2 at the Carnoustie Golf Links, the Women’s Open seems like a battle to choose the best among the best hence a vigorous chase awaits the course for another day.
