Tiger Woods is kicking off the new year with a fresh look, as he recently announced a partnership extension with TaylorMade Golf to launch his own lifestyle brand called Sun Day Red.
Tiger Woods Introducing SUN DAY RED Brand
This change comes after Woods and Nike ended their 27-year partnership, which began when Woods turned pro in 1996. Nike stopped making golf equipment in 2016, and Woods had deals with TaylorMade for clubs and Bridgestone for golf balls. Now, he's teaming up exclusively with TaylorMade for apparel and footwear.
The Sun Day Red brand incorporates Woods' 15 major championships into its logo, featuring a tiger stretched across the three words. Woods, who has always worn red on Sundays in tournaments, says his mother encouraged him to wear it as his "power color."
TaylorMade plans to launch the Sun Day Red apparel line online in the United States and Canada on May 1, with hopes of expanding to other markets and eventually adding footwear, women's, and kids' lines.
The announcement comes just before Woods' 2024 debut at the Genesis Invitational, a tournament he hosts. Woods, who ended his Nike partnership last year, teased the move on social media and has been recovering from injuries to make his comeback.
Despite his limited appearances due to injuries, Woods remains optimistic about his return to the game. He aims to play regularly starting with the Genesis Invitational, which boasts a $20 million purse.
Woods' journey back to competition has been eagerly anticipated by fans, and his partnership with TaylorMade signals a new chapter in his storied career.
