PGA

The third day had witnessed various emotions of the golfers on the field. Currently world no.1 Jon Rahm opened with three bogeys and a birdie through his first seven holes and had been visibly frustrated after a near shanked chip on the fifth hole. After battling through the first third, he was then given a huge luck slice when his ball was destined on the eighth.

It wasn't just the World No.1 who was showing frustration during round three of the PGA Championship as Taylor Moore was seen launching his driver into the ground as he walked off the 16th tee. The American, who had produced a five-over-par front nine of 40, then bogeyed the 10th to sit at six-over for the tournament. Following that, a run of pars followed, with a birdie at the 14th bringing him back to five-over for the day.

Along with Rahm and Moore, there was also a bizarre incident on the first tee, when Bryson and Koepka were both booed by the spectators at the Oak Hill Country Club.

Brooks Koepka, leader of the third day is looking for his another victory on the PGA Championship. If he does so, that would make him only the third player in the PGA Championship’s stroke-play era to win the title three times. He’d be up there with Jack and Tiger. This American shot 6-under (72,66,66) to get the lead on the third day. He accounted for five birdies and a bogey shot on the 7th.

One behind the leader was Viktor Hovland from Norway who shot a 5-under (68,67,70). He finished the round at par with three birdies and three bogeys. Up on 18, Viktor Hovland can’t get close with his splash out of the bunker ,he was on a downslope and though he nearly drained his 25-footer for par, closed with a bogey. On the 18th tee he found the bunker guarding the front right of the green.

Tied along Viktor was Corey Conners who had a 5-under (67,68,70) who had a precious par shot on the 17th which made him quite relaxed despite his disastrous double bogey on the 16th. It was something serious for Corey where on 16th he drived into a bunker down the right of the hole, then slamed his second into the bank inches above the face of the trap. His ball pluged then. Till 15th he was all having a bogey free round. He birdied the 8th and 15th.

Currently world no. 2 Scottie who was in the lead on the second day of the tournament was on tied-5 with Justin Rose. Scottie Scheffler came up short of 9 but managed to got up and down to scramble a par. He was out in 39, though, not on his game at all. That par putt from six feet only just grabbed the left-hand edge of the cup, too.
