When Golf legend Tiger shockingly quit the US PGA Championship 2022 after struggling in the third round at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the fans were aghast. It was for the first time that Woods had withdrawn from a Major as a professional.

After winning the Claret Jug in 2000, he became the youngest player to complete his career's gland slam

Injuries ruled the roost as the former world No 1 was recovering from his fifth back surgery when he was involved in a car crash in California resulting in a lengthy recuperation. For the uninitiated, Tiger Woods had been inflicted with several injuries during his lengthy PGA Tour career.

5 years later, Woods returned to St Andrews and became only the 5th player to win two Opens at the home of golf

Therefore, the big question that’s taking centrestage right now- Is Tiger Woods in a position to participate in the upcoming Open 2022, that marks its landmark 150th year? Will Tiger Woods lift the Claret jug again?

Well, it appears that Woods is intent on carrying out his plans on playing the forthcoming JP McManus Pro-Am at Adare Manor before pegging it up at the landmark 150th Open.

The 15-time major winner’s recent picture on social media showed how worse his injury for the first time ever.  But that’s definitely not discouraging him to make his strong presence felt at the 150th Open and he's clearly still thinking about his. A photo of him is going viral where he’s taking a practice swing whilst on the sidelines at a local football match.

A peek into the history of the Open Championship and Tiger Woods has a bagful of success stories in his kitty. Having participated in the British Open 21 times, he won three titles in 2000, 2005, 2006 and had four other Top-10 finishes. Now, that’s incredible.

By winning the Claret Jug in 2000, Woods, then 24, became the youngest player ever to complete the career Grand Slam, snatching the honor from Jack Nicklaus, who was 26 when he pulled off the trick.
